Apple iPhone 11 sees new set of renders ‘leaked’, reveal a different design

Apple’s iPhone 11 or iPhone XI or the iPhone 2019 as it is being called, has previously sparked a lot of interest, even though it won’t be officially exposed till September 2019.

We have seen fairly a few images renders of the supposed iPhone XI and the latest one from Onleaks (in partnership with a website called CompareRaja) claims to illustrate an entirely dissimilar design from what was seen earlier.

The latest iPhone 2019 render shows a notch on the front display, which is slighter in size and the camera bump is slimmer at the back. The camera smack is now in the center and horizontally aligned, and not vertical one we have seen on previous iPhone variants. Apple is anticipated to set up three cameras at the rear with the iPhone XI.

A previous Apple’s iPhone XI render done by OnLeaks in partnership with Digit India had exposed a rather hideous looking camera bump at the back of the device. Of course, these are all sample renders and the iPhone XI will probably look very dissimilar when it actually launches.

Meanwhile, a previous report on Wall Street Journal said the iPhone XI will have a triple camera, though this will be kept for the more luxurious 6.5-inch iPhone variant. The slighter 5.8-inch screen iPhone XI variation will not get the triple camera and stick with double cameras.

The report also talked about how Apple will have only OLED display iPhones by 2020, something which has been discussed before as well. With the triple camera arrangement, Apple is anticipated to introduce a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor at the back as well.

The WSJ report also added that the successor to the iPhone XR will have dual-cameras in its place of a single camera arrangement at the back.

It has been reported that the iPhone XR’s sales have not lived up to expectations. Still, Apple insists that the iPhone XR remains their best-selling model since it launched in October 2018

iPhone XR iFixit teardown gives expectation for DIY maintenances

iFixit has published its teardown of the iPhone XR, Apple’s latest LCD iPhone model. The company has wrapped up its disassembly of the device, showing off apiece component and the boring process of taking the handset apart. Buyers doubting whether they’ll be talented to replace their own cracked display are in for some decent news: it’s not an impossible task.

It seems almost unavoidable that a phone screen will become cracked at some point, and getting one swapped has become an increasingly luxurious repair. The cost leads some handset owners to effort the repair on their own, but the rise of sealed rear panels, ample quantities of glue, and complex hardware have made the assignment very difficult.

iFixit, possibly the most popular teardown site, has followed up its iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max guide with its new iPhone XR teardown. The handset has established the same 6 out of 10 repairability score as its two siblings, giving purchasers hope that they’ll be talented to repair the device on their own (with a bit of skill).

The repair process is boring but not awfully difficult, as the video above shows. A bit of careful prying, screw elimination, and heat is all it takes to eliminate the back panel, after which point it becomes a slow process of eliminating screws and lifting out components. According to iFixit, DIYers can replace a broken display without having to remove a bunch of hardware and “with a little care” toward preservative Face ID.

iFixit notes some points of trouble, including the sustained use of Penta lobe and try-point screws, though it points out that these are still desirable over problematic adhesive. As well, the waterproofing elements add some difficulty to DIY repairs. The big downside, the teardown notes, is the use of crystal on the front and back; crack the rear glass and you’ll have to substitute the entire chassis.

Apple to ship >75 million latest iPhones current year, mostly XR and XS Max, new Watch proving popular: Kuo

iphone-xs-watch-s4Apple publicized its flagship iPhone line up of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR to a usually mixed reception. Ming-Chi Kuo says that the XS preorders are ‘lackluster’, but trusts in the strength of XS Max demand and the iPhone XR launch in October.

He also well-known that TF Industries are raising estimations for Apple Watch Series 4, with the new models taking about 55% share, together with the cheaper Series 3 watches.

Kuo says that demand for Apple Watch Series 4 is improved than their initial prospects due to ‘innovative functions’ like the electrocardiogram. They expect Apple Watch consignments to reach 18 million units in 2018.

Kuo says sales would be even stronger if Apple can get controlling approval for ECG features in more areas, beyond the US.

Regarding the iPhones, Kuo trusts that shipments of new iPhone models will grow slightly year on year to 75-80 million units for the remainder of the year.

Kuo says that greeting to XS Max in China is strong due to the golden case option, bigger screen and the adding of dual-SIM capabilities. Kuo have confidence that the Max will make up about 30% of new iPhone shipments.

The XR also has a helpful outlook according to Kuo. They imagine the XR to make up the majority of shipments, amongst 55-60% of sales. However, they see weaker demand for the 5.8-inch XS, which is reproduced in the general accessibility of XS models on the Apple Store.

The latest phones and Apple Watch launch this Friday, 21 September. Let us distinguish in the comments what you’ll be getting.
