Nokia introducing low end phones to AT&T, Cricket

If you suppose Nokia is giving up the struggle to make a name for itself yet again in the overcrowded but still enormous smartphone market, think again. HMD Global, which is the “home” of the former giant of a phone brand, has announced that it will be present its first device on AT&T Prepaid, the Nokia 3.1 A. They are also growing their portfolios over at Cricket Wireless by adding another of its entry levers devices, the Nokia 3.1 C, as an alternative for their subscribers.

This is the first Nokia phone being offered to AT&T subscribers ever since HMD relaunched the Nokia brand back in 2016. For Cricket Wireless, this is the 2nd phone being presented after the larger Nokia 3.1 Plus came to the carrier former this year. They are obviously targeting the entry-level market looking for either a secondary phone or a device that is reasonable but functional.

The two devices are actually pretty much identical. They have a 5.45-inch screen with 720-pixel display and are power-driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processors. They have 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space which can be expanded with a microSD card. Both phones have 8MP main cameras with LED flash and 5MP front-facing cameras.

The two budget phones arrive with 2,900mAh batteries, USB Type-C charging ports and 3.5mm headphone jacks. They will come with Android 9.0 Pie out of the package and of course the full power of Google Assistant.

The Nokia 3.1 A will be obtainable at select Walmart stores by June 10 and will come in black while the Nokia 3.1 C will be at Cricket Wireless stores by June 14. HMD says pricing will be publicizing the day of their launch.

OnePlus 7 Pro transparent back shows you almost everything

OnePlus 7 Pro transparent back shows you almost everything

This isn’t your usual teardown from Zack Nelson but it’s just as exciting. He reveals the completely clear OnePlus 7 Pro by tearing down the phone cautiously and then making the rear panel transparent. The rear of the smartphone appears precise at first glimpse but we will have to see how the Chinese OEM truly laid out the components. JerryRigEverything isn’t checking further within the device but only the rear part of the phone to see how the motorized camera works.

Zack Nelson has forever been careful when it comes to opening mobile devices but he’s twice as careful when it comes to the OnePlus 7 Pro. Cables are fragile but Zack manages to remain them intact. Heating up the sides of the phone effortlessly softens the glue so the panel is alienated fast from the other part.

The back of the phone is visibly covered by a thin layer material. It easily peels off so getting it out in one piece is someway satisfying. Simply warmth of the back panel so peeling off is easier.

The back glass now appears frosted. It’s not actually clear but we can absolutely see through it.

Now on to the pop-up selfie camera, it appears alike to that of the old Vivo NEX S. We’re not truly expecting anything latest on the selfie camera design. We just wish to know if it can last frequent use.

JerryRigEverything can do another teardown. It will be more thorough so we’ll lastly see the underneath the battery.

When it comes to toughness, the latest Durability Test also done by Zack Nelson has exposed that it is. The OnePlus 7 Pro’s screen and back are scratchless. The front display isn’t damaged and doesn’t show any residue after almost a minute of being located under heat. Flexing the phone from both the back and front don’t injure the unit.

Honor 20 Pro

The Honor sub-brand is doing well. There is no mention how many units the company is selling but there are some models existing in the market. A couple of days ago, the Honor 20 Lite launched with a triple back camera and a 32MP selfie shooter. The Honor 20 series has started to appear so expect other variants like the Pro version to be unveiled shortly. Recently surfacing are teaser images of the Honor 20 Pro. They’re new like promo photos and not just renders.

The set was shared by a source, confirming a number of details we’ve heard previously. Interestingly, there is no camera hole so we’re pretentious a pop-up camera.

While the Honor 20 Lite comes with a waterdrop notch, the Honor 20 Pro may have a hidden camera somewhere. It can be unspecified a pop-up selfie shooter as with most flagship smartphones from the top OEMs we recognize. However, there is no show of such component on the images provided.

So where’s the selfie camera? It’s there somewhere. Or could this now be the regular Honor 20?

Honor-20-Pro-Details-1068x600

We’ve featured the Honor 20 phone sequence several times. We keep in mind the Honor 20 specs and images that surfaced on Weibo. The Honor 20i turned away to be the Honor 20 Lite.

The launch is happening extremely quickly. Let’s assessment the specs and features we identify so far: 6.1-inch bezel-less display, fingerprint sensor, SIM card tray, 6GB or 8GB of RAM, 28GB or 256GB storage space, a triple rear camera system (48MP + 20MP + 8MP), 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and time-of-flight (ToF) sensor. The phone may also be power-driven by a Kirin 980 processor and a 3650mAh battery. The source says a quad camera arrangement like the Huawei P30 Pro may also be an option.

Color options contain Black, Blue, and Pearl White. A Red Moschino Special version may be out as well. Design-wise, the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro seem close to the Huawei P30 Pro based on the images we’ve seen in the past.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 image renders out this early

Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The Samsung Galaxy S10 line is blooming. The coming of the 5G variant has done well to the company because of the enhanced specs and features. It’s also the latest mobile king on DxOmark although it’s not without any issue. We learned of a burnt Samsung Galaxy S10 5G although that was because of an “external impact”. The phone doesn’t switch to 4G LTE in South Korea but we have a feeling that one can be fixed by the carriers.

While the Samsung Galaxy Fold is still on hold, we can begin anticipating for the Galaxy Note 10 due next quarter. The next premium flagship Android phone from the South Korean tech massive has been part of the rumor mill as early as November last year.

The Galaxy Note 10 was noted to have a superior and improved screen. A Galaxy Note S Pen patent was granted. A quad-camera system may be implemented.

The phone may feature a keyless design and it could be out in two sizes. The multiple models could contain the Galaxy Note 10 Pro which we’re pretentious will also be the Galaxy Note 10 5G phone.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 Pro is supposed to have a fast-charging 4500mAh battery. The Note 10’s camera hole may be slighter but it could be located in the middle.

When it comes to the display, it may feature a display more curved than before according to our preferred Chinese leakster Ice universe who’s been sharing bits about the flagship phone out in the second half of 2019.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has been envisioned in the latest image renders  Check out the gallery below:

Our source said the device will feature a “very outstanding curved design”. It will be “an extra belligerent curved display than Note7”. “More than one brand” will be available so we can presume there will really be two variants.

Huawei P Smart Z with pop-up selfie cam renders surface online

The pop-up selfie camera design is this year’s notch. Last year, the temper was all about the notch on the front display, housing the selfie camera, and ensuing in an almost bezel-less screen. To attain a fully bezel-less display, there are two possibilities: use a pop-up selfie shoot or implement a slider mechanism. Think Vivo V15/V15 Pro, Vivo X27, Vivo NEX, Samsung Galaxy A80, OPPO F11 Pro, OPPO Find X, Honor Magic 2, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. These phones have unseen the selfie cameras, eliminating the requirement for a notch or a camera hole.

We can’t say if the two designs that conceal the front-facing cameras will turn into standards in the market but we won’t be astonished at all if top OEMs like Huawei use them. The Samsung Galaxy A80 launched with a slider design and rotating cameras.

Huawei used the similar idea on the Honor Magic 2. The Chinese company is anticipated to use the design more in the future. The pop-up selfie cam design may also be used by Huawei as revealed off in the renders of the Huawei P Smart Z.

The Huawei P30 series immobile features a notch but a next phone offering could have the pop-up selfie camera design. Even the Huawei P Smart 2019 version still uses a dewdrop notch.

The next phones, the Huawei P Smart Z and the Huawei P Smart X, could be out in the Netherlands first since the renders appeared on a Dutch website.

The Huawei P Smart Z mid-range phone is said to swank the following specs and features: 6.59-inch Full HD+ screen, 2340 × 1080 pixel declaration, 391ppi, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 16MP pop-up selfie camera and f/2.0 lens, octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB onboard storage space, and a 4000mAh battery. The back dual cameras are a combination of 16MP f/1.8 and 2MP f/2.4 sensor.

Huawei will preserve the 3.5mm headphone port and back fingerprint scanner. Color options contain Blue, Green, and Black. Pricing may start at €210 ($234).

OnePlus 7 Launch Date

More proof will be exposed in the coming days and weeks awaiting OnePlus makes the official declaration. The Chinese OEM is being generous with the teasers and tweets. There will still be the OnePlus 7 Series and a OnePlus 7 Pro will be obtainable. The brand that wants the public to “Never Settle” isn’t mum about the next-gen flagship Android phone. In fact, we believe it’s making just the right noise as it wants the customers to “Get ready for the OnePlus 7 Series”.

As early as November previous year, we were told OnePlus 7 wouldn’t implement 5G tech yet but a 5G phone would be prepared from the Chinese phone maker. The possibility of a 5G phone is predictable because the OnePlus 7 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 that supports 5G.

The 5G model may be luxurious. It may cost more but not that expensive at all. The OnePlus 7 phone may also not have wireless charging yet but 5G support will be all set.

We’ve seen OnePlus 7 images leaked and latest renders then appeared. More live images surfaced, showing NO notch or camera hole.

Some specs and pricing were scheduled on a retailer’s website. The 360-degree video was believable but we were told to only stay for the official launch of the flagship killer that is actually fast and smooth.

The other OnePlus 7 variant, the OnePlus 7 Pro, will also debut next month complete with triple back cameras (48MP lens included) and a special display.

The official launch occasion is happening on May 14, 11 AM EDT, in Pier 94, New York. OnePlus simply shows the ‘Go beyond Speed’ tagline on the product website showing the edge of a OnePlus phone with the recognizable gradient finish of the Huawei P30 Pro. The video teaser shared by OnePlus online briefly presents a triple back camera system. We’re just interested in what area the OnePlus 7 will ‘Go Beyond Speed’ in.
