Leaked press renders of LG G8 ThinQ recommend innovative leaks were right

Last week, consistent leaker @OnLeaks (via 91Mobiles) shared some renders supposedly depicting the LG G8 ThinQ. Even hardcore LG fans were dismayed to see that the renders show a phone that looks very similar to previous year’s flagship offerings from the company.

LG take to Twitter to claim those renders were incorrect and didn’t precisely represent the final product. That gave us some hope that maybe the LG G8 would be dissimilar.

Alas, we now have leaked press renders of the last product (via XDA Developers) and, as we expected, the device looks pretty much the similar as it did in @OnLeaks renders.

Leaked press renders allegedly of the LG G8 ThinQ.

Unless we’re mislaid something, these press renders are a deceased ringer for the originally-leaked renders.

Just to clarify, @OnLeaks develops his renders from CAD files which are spread to the factories where the devices are put together. @OnLeaks creates a mock-up of the device from those files.

However, these press renders are dissimilar: these are created by LG itself. If this press renders are legit, this is accurately what the LG G8 ThinQ will look like, arrogant there are no last-minute changes in the pipeline.

As expected, the device looks extremely like to the LG G7 ThinQ, with the only significant changes being the addition of a second camera on the front and the taking away of the speaker grille in the notch. The dual cameras on the back are reconfigured and appear to be more recessed into the body of the device, as well. Other than that, though, this looks just like previous year’s G7.

At least the headphone jack is still there.

We still don’t distinguish about the specs of the device. We do, however, have a niggling suspicion that there might be a second screen accessory existing with the G8, which could be pretty interesting. There’s also a rumor about a new LG phone working without you having to feel the device.

It’s widely speculated that LG will launch the LG G8 ThinQ at Mobile World Congress towards the end of February. We’ll discover out everything then.
